Our Work
PositiviTree is a Canadian youth-led climate resilience initiative recognized by UNICEF Innocenti as one of the world's Top 30 climate education initiatives from more than 18,000 global nominations. Co-led by Indigenous and visible minority youth, PositiviTree operates at the intersection of climate change, mental health, and community resilience, engaging Indigenous, immigrant, lower-income, and other underrepresented youth.

Through a whole-of-society approach that brings together youth, schools, cultural institutions, civil society, and government, PositiviTree transforms lived experiences of wildfire smoke, extreme weather, and climate anxiety into collective action. Developed in response to growing climate impacts in Alberta, the initiative has pioneered innovative models that make build communal resilience and create opportunities for youth and policymakers to co-design policy solutions. By centering the lived experience of young Albertans and young Canadians, PositiviTree helps ensure that those most affected by climate impacts are actively shaping the responses to them.
